1. Samsung


In the second quarter of 2020, Samsung accounted for 18.6 percent of the world’s smartphone market. Samsung has sold 54.7 million smartphones during the period. Which is 27.1 percent lower than in the second quarter of 2019. In the second quarter of last year, it sold 75.1 million smartphones.

Samsung has even lost its share of the global smartphone market in this one-year period. Samsung’s market share fell to 20.6 percent from 18.3 percent in the second quarter of last year.

2. Huawei


In the second quarter of 2020, Huawei sold 54.1 million smartphones. Huawei’s share of the global smartphone market is 18.4 percent. In 2019, Huawei’s share was 15.7 percent. However, Huawei sold only 6.8 percent fewer smartphones in the second quarter of last year. Huawei has maintained its presence in the Chinese market despite its poor performance in other markets around the world.

Huawei’s share of the Chinese smartphone market reached 42.6 percent in the second quarter of 2020. According to the second quarter report of 2019, Huawei’s market share was 15.7 percent. Huawei had sold 58 million smartphones in the same period.

3. Apple


The US company Apple has sold 38 million iPhones during this period. This is 0.4 percent less than the same period last year. In the second quarter of 2020, sales of other brands of smartphones in the world market were disappointing, while sales of iPhones were encouraging.

Also, iPhone sales were higher in the second quarter than in the first quarter. Apple now has a 13 percent share of the global smartphone market. Apple’s market share in the second quarter of 2019 was 10.4 percent. Apple sold 38.5 million iPhones during the period.

4. Xiaomi


Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has sold 26 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2020. Xiaomi’s market share shrank to 8.9 percent from 21.5 percent in the same period last year, from 9 percent in the second quarter.

In the second quarter of 2019, Xiaomi had sold 33.2 million smartphones in the global market.

5. Oppo


Oppo, which is one of the top five smartphones in the world, has a market share of 8 percent. In the second quarter of the current English year, Oppo has managed to reach 23.6 million smartphones.

Oppo sold 28 million smartphones in the second quarter of last year, down 15.9 percent this year. However, the market share has increased from 7.6 percent in the second quarter of 2019 to 8 percent now.
