Lockdown has boosted mobile business while other businesses have declined. Sales of mobile phones have increased due to school, college, and home office work during the lockdown.
Deepak Malhotra, president of the Mobile Importers’ Association and chairman of the IMS Group, Samsung’s official seller, said sales of mobiles were good when the lockdown closed the border.

“In the beginning of the lock down, we didn’t sell anything but food. Later, when the demand for mobiles came, we started selling,” he said. He says that there was a good sale of mobiles after food during lock down.
“Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo sold more than 20,000 to 40,000 phones at that time. The stock of phones from China is also low,” he said. Prenisa Shrestha, marketing manager of Huawei, said that the stock of the series phones sold in Lockdown has decreased.
