The Indian government has banned 59 mobile applications, including TikTok originating from China. Due to the border disputes between China and India, India has taken this big step.
TikTok is considered to be one of the most popular mobile applications in the world. The ban was imposed by the Indian government amid rising tensions between China and India.
The Indian government imposed the ban using Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The article provides that the Government of India or any of its authorized government officials may be barred from doing so if they deem it to be a threat to India’s sovereignty, integrity, national security, relations with its neighbors, and public life.
In India alone, TikTok has 100 million active users.
How are these restrictions enforce? That remains to be seen. But soon these apps will not be available for download from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store in India.
Even if someone tries to use a restricted application, including a ticket, the Internet service provider will send you a message saying, “At the request of the government, you are denied access to these apps.”
Thousands of Indians are at risk of losing their jobs in India after a ban on mobile applications, including tickets.
