On May 11, there was a cyberattack on the Archer Supercomputer at the University of Edinburgh. Due to which the computer was inactive. On the same day, five different German supercomputers were shutting down due to cyber attacks.
Since then, hackers have attacked more supercomputers in Germany, as well as supercomputers in Switzerland and Spain.

According to the European Group infrastructure Foundation, hackers are targeting supercomputers at academic data centers for CPU mining.
